Girls' Day
Young women in Germany are particularly well-educated. Nevertheless, more than half of the girls choose from only ten different training occupations in the dual system - not a single scientific-technical one is among them.
This means that many girls do not make full use of their career opportunities and that there is a lack of qualified young talent, particularly in technical and technology-related areas. Girls' Day offers an opportunity to counter this trend: On this special day, girls are given the opportunity to get to know training occupations and courses of study in IT, skilled trades, natural sciences and technology, in which women are rarely represented. We hope that our support will enable young female scientists to follow their scientific endeavors to fruition.
Since 2022, we also participate in Boys' Day. The Boys' Future Day is a nationwide orientation day for vocational orientation and life planning for boys. On Boys'Day, boys learn about professions or fields of study in which the proportion of men is less than 40 percent.
