LGBTQI*
LGBTQI* stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersexual - in other words people who are not heterosexual or who have a different gender identity.
CUI welcomes all LGBTQI* researchers to the cluster. We are against discrimination of any kind, so of course homophobia, transphobia and queerphobia have no place in the cluster. Instead, we focus on a culture of openness, in which sexual orientation or gender should not be an obstacle to participation in the cluster.
Together with the Clusters of Excellence, the Equal Opportunity Unit and the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Natural Sciences at the University of Hamburg CUI has initiated the LGBTQIA* network “Science and beλond”.
The new network aims to address all queer/LGBTQI* and supportive people, i.e. researchers and employees from administration and science management. It wants to offer them a safe environment for exchange and opportunities for networking. In this way, the visibility of those involved and the awareness of the topic will be increased at the same time.
If you are interested in the topic, you can join the network and be informed about upcoming events.
