For example:
Thore Posske's, Elena Vedmedenko's and Roland Wiesendanger's groups use artificial neural networks to classify topological properties in dynamic and static data of spin configurations. Here neural networks have recently been shown to reliably detect the number of skyrmions in smeared and reduced experimental data.
