The Cluster of Excellence "CUI: Advanced Imaging of Matter" has welcomed its first Master's scholarship holders to the Research Campus Hamburg-Bahrenfeld with a welcoming event.
They are studying physics, nanosciences or chemistry and have convincingly demonstrated their interest in the natural sciences during the application process: Constantin Lescow, Alice Judt, Till Schacht, Dorothee von Krosigk, Yanick Garbers and Iryna Bondarenko can look forward to a 12-month scholarship with which the Cluster would like to support their scientific qualification within the framework of relevant Master's Programs at Universität Hamburg. In addition to financial support, the scholarship offers the opportunity to get in contact with the Cluster's excellent research and to work in one of the research groups.
To provide an initial insight into the cluster and the research infrastructure, the CUI office invited the scholarship holders to a welcome event on campus. At HARBOR, the headquarters of the CUI office, they were first given an overview of the research activities, the Hamburg-Bahrenfeld research campus, their program and possible contacts. Susanna Gevorgyan, Sarodi Jonak Dutta and Prince Prabhu, representatives of the doctoral students and postdocs, answered questions and guided the group through the laboratories of Prof. Wolfgang Parak and Prof Christian Betzel as well as to the theoretical working group of Prof. Peter Schmelcher.
The projects are carried out at the Departments of Physics and Chemistry at Universität Hamburg or, if applicable, at the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY), the Max Planck Institute for the Structure and Dynamics of Matter (MPSD) or the European XFEL.
