Parent-Child-Office

You need to bring your child to campus because you have no childcare for the day?

For parents who are in acute need of care for their children, CUI offers all researchers the opportunity to work directly on campus in a child-friendly atmosphere in the two Parent-Child-Offices.

Where are the offices located?

In building 610 (HARBOR), room 2026. This room is also accessible via an elevator.
In building 67 (Institute for Experimental Physics), room 004. This room is barrier-free.

Who can use the offices?

The offices are usable by all researchers at the Bahrenfeld Campus. However, a transponder unlocked for the building is required to access the Parent-Child-Office in HARBOR. If you don’t own such a transponder, feel free to contact our Diversity Officer, Eileen Schwanold(eileen.schwanold"AT"uni-hamburg.de). A way will be found to ensure access to the office for you as well.

How does the use of the offices work

If you have the appropriate transponder, you can use the Parent-Child-Offices without making an appointment. Simply stop by and use the office for as long as you need. The offices are available to you at any time of the day.

If you are not working at HARBOR and want to use the Parent-Child-Office there, please contact Eileen Schwanold(eileen.schwanold"AT"uni-hamburg.de) in time so that an opening of the office can be guaranteed.

What are the offices equipped with?

In the offices you will find toys, a baby bed, an opportunity to change your child as well as enough privacy and a nursing pillow, for nursing your baby. There is also a desk in the offices with nearby electricity access. Please bring your own laptop.
