What do X-ray light sources, particle accelerators, radio telescopes, cryo-electron microscopes and scientific simulations have in common? They produce immense amounts of data that have to be recorded, analyzed and archived. The Center for Data and Computing in Natural Science (CDCS) is developing modern solutions for this at the interface between computer science and the natural sciences.
At the core of the CDCS are four application-oriented, interdisciplinary laboratories from the fields of astro- and particle physics, photon science, structural systems biology and accelerator physics, supported by a central computer science unit.
