Three scientists from the Department of Physics at the Universität Hamburg are on the now published list of "Highly Cited Researchers 2019" of the Web of Science Group. All three researchers work in the cluster of excellence "CUI: Advanced Imaging of Matter".
Each year since 2002, Web of Science has presented a list recognizing research scientists who have demonstrated significant and broad influence in a chosen field or fields through the publication of multiple papers – highly cited by their peers – during the past decade. The Highly Cited Researchers 2019 global list was released this week - four researchers from the Universität Hamburg are on the list, among them three researchers from CUI:
- Prof. Dr. Henry N. Chapman, Universität Hamburg and lead scientist at DESY, CUI
- Prof. Dr. Wolfgang J. Parak, Universität Hamburg, Institute for Nano Structure and Solid State Physics, CUI
- Prof. Dr. Roland Wiesendanger, Universität Hamburg, Institute for Nano Structure and Solid State Physic, CUI
- Prof. Dr. med. Klaus Pantel, Universität Hamburg, UKE
According to the Web of Science, these researchers have distinguished themselves by publishing a high number of papers that rank in the top 1% most cited works in their field and during its year of publication. Such consistent production of highly cited reports indicates that the work of these researchers has been repeatedly judged by their peers to be of notable significance and utility.
In 2018 Web of Science introduced a new Cross-Field category that identifies researchers who have contributed to highly cited papers across several different fields. The CUI scientists are listed in the Cross-Field category.
