In the "Hamburg Advanced Research Centre for Bioorganic Chemistry" (HARBOR), around 120 scientists from the MIN Faculty (Mathematics, Informatics and Natural Sciences) of Universität Hamburg will be conducting research on molecular biological systems. The aim is to develop methods for the targeted triggering and control of processes in single molecules using light in order to make these processes visible and investigate them. A five-storey new building with a gross floor area of approx. 7,000 square meters is now available for the experiments, which are carried out under high safety standards. The building was realized by Sprinkenhof GmbH in the tenant-tenant model and was completed on schedule for the Ministry for Science, Research and Equality (BWFG). The total project costs amount to around € 37 million, of which the Federal Government will pay € 13.75 million for the building and an additional € 2.6 million for large-scale equipment and initial installation.
