On 16 November 2026, 9:00 -11:00 am, the Clusters of Excellence CLICCS, CUI: Advanced Imaging of Matter, and Quantum Universe, the MIN Faculty, the Centre for the Study of Manuscript Cultures (CSMC) and its Cluster of Excellence Understanding Written Artefacts (UWA), and the Family Office of the University of Hamburg will hold their annual Scientific Career and Parenthood event.

After an overview of the legal framework under the academic fixed-term labor contract act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz, WissZeitVG) and their effects on, e.g., taking parental leave, researchers will share  personal strategies for balancing their academic careers and family lives. After the panel discussion, participants will have the opportunity to exchange informally and network with each other .

This is a family-friendly event - children are welcome!
