Unconscious Bias 101
Everyone is biased to a certain extent because of the ways our brain structures information. This one hand allows us to make quick decisions in every day life situations. But as functional as mental shortcuts are in some situations, in many contexts being biased comes with a cost – for the individual as well as for society as a whole. Therefore, it's worth having a closer look at where our biases come from and why they still have such a strong impact on our perceptions and decision-making. This introductory workshop will give a condensed overview about the phenomenon “Unconscious Bias”, the psychological science behind it.
We will address:
Psychological mechanisms that feed into bias
Types & consequences of Unconscious Bias
Overcoming the impact of bias!?
Please register here. The event will take place at HARBOR (Campus Bahrenfeld).
